She began her acting career in 2016 with the short film Magnífico and, in the same year, participated in Camila. Her international recognition came in 2017 when she starred in the film Las hijas de Abril, playing the role of Valeria. This performance earned her the CANACINE Award for Best Female Breakthrough and the Ariel Award for Best Female Revelation. In 2019, Ana Valeria appeared in Muerte al Verano as Lucy. However, it was her role as Sofía Herrera in Netflix's Control Z (2020–2022) that solidified her as a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
