Biografía
Shriya Saran (born Shriya Saran Bhatnagar; 11 September 1982) is an Indian actress and model who works predominantly in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi cinema, as well as international and Malayalam productions. Trained in Kathak, she appeared in the music video "Thirakti Kyun Hawa" by Renu Nathan before beginning her acting career.
Saran made her acting debut in the Telugu romantic drama *Ishtam* (2001), followed by roles in *Santosham* (2002) and *Nuvve Nuvve* (2002). Her subsequent films include V. V. Vinayak's *Tagore* (2003), *Nenunnanu* (2004), S. S. Rajamouli's action film *Chatrapathi* (2005), and Shankar's Tamil film *Sivaji: The Boss* (2007). She made her Hindi leading debut in Mohit Suri's crime drama *Awarapan* (2007) and appeared in Susi Ganesan's superhero film *Kanthaswamy* (2009). Her English-language credits include James Dodson's *The Other End of the Line* (2008) and Deepa Mehta's adaptation of Salman Rushdie's *Midnight's Children* (2012). She also appeared in Vikram K. Kumar's *Manam* (2014) and Krish Jagarlamudi's historical film *Gautamiputra Satakarni* (2017).
She portrayed Nandini Salgaonkar in Nishikant Kamat's crime thriller *Drishyam* (2015) and its sequel *Drishyam 2* (2022), both opposite Ajay Devgn. She played Sarojini in S. S. Rajamouli's *RRR* (2022), appeared in the multilingual period action film *Kabzaa* (2023), and played Mandira Mathur in Mihir Desai's drama series *Showtime* (2024). Her later credits include Karthik Ghattamaneni's Telugu fantasy adventure *Mirai* (2025), Karthik Subbaraj's *Retro* (2025), and the space drama series *Space Gen: Chandrayaan* (2026).
